The Carreta Temple of Sarchí has been renovated to become a space that celebrates the cultural richness of Costa Rica. The new, colorful stained glass windows highlight the tradition of boyeo and carreta painting, recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
This transformation completes the enhancement of a place that now proudly frames the world’s largest oxcart, located in Sarchí’s central park, symbolizing art, creativity, and Costa Rican identity.
The project was made possible thanks to the joint efforts of the National Chamber of Tourism and Commerce of Sarchí, the Municipality, architect Ibo Bonilla and his team, with the collaboration of partners such as Morpho Travel Experience, which is proud to contribute to the preservation and promotion of our culture.
